AYALA SPERKA.. JONATHAN STARKMAN MELANIE TOPPER BRADLEY TRIVAX Sperka will spend a year in Israel studying for certifica- tion to teach Hebrew and religious studies. She is Phi- Beta Kappa, a Michigan Competitive Scholarship qualifier, and a National Merit finalist. She volunteers at Borman Hall and the Jewish Federation Apart- ments, and leads a Bnos Agudath Israel youth group. She is a member of the school drama group and yearbook staff. Starkman is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Club, the Spanish National Honor Society, and is a Rennsalaer Polytechnic Institute math/science medal winner. He was a 1990 Op- timist Award winner and a representative in the Oak- land County Science Sym- posium. He played varsity baseball and soccer. He com- peted in the Maccabi Youth Games and will attend the University of Michigan. Topper plans to study medicine at the University of Michigan. She was a member of the student council and the National Honor Society, and has been involved in dance, modeling and charity work. Trivax will attend the University of Michigan, and plans a career in medicine. He is president of the National Honor Society, Phi Beta Kap- pa, secretary of the senior class, a member of the varsity soccer team and student representative to the South- field Board of Education. He is in the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization and enjoys sports and speaking Hebrew. CHERYL WALLER KEVIN WEISS MICHAEL WIDLANSKY Waller will attend Brandeis University. She is a National Honor Society member and Phi Beta Kappa, yearbook editor and captain of the var- sity soccer team. In soccer, she has twice been all- division, three times all-area honorable mention and best forward award, and the team's leading scorer for four years. She plans to play soccer at Brandeis. She has been active in Shira BBG and served as convention coordinator. Weiss, summa cum laude at West Bloomfield, will attend the University of Michigan College of Engineering. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Students Against Drunk Driving, and is Phi Beta Kappa. He has played in the marching band, jazz band, pit band and sym- phony band, and helped lead youth services at Congrega- tion Beth Shalom. Widlansky will attend Stan- ford University. He played Andover baseball, was edito- rials editor on the newspaper, was on the debate team and volunteered at Sinai Hospi- tal. He was president and co- founder of the Wilsonian Democrats club and a member of the AZA for two years. He is Phi Beta Kappa and was a National Merit Scholarship commended student. Last year, she won the Edgar Bronfman Youth Fellowship Award for outstanding young Jewish leaders. At Country Day, she has been active for four years in musical and drama produc- tions, as well as two choral groups.
