Institute Of Arts
Admission Policy

Visitors to the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts will now pay
admission, but the actual
amount is for the visitor to
determine.
Museum Director Samuel
Sachs II called this a
"mandatory-discretionary"
admission policy and said
that the recommended
amounts would be $4 per
adult and $1 for students and
children.
The museum will adopt a
series of cost-effective
measures:
A rotation schedule will be
initiated, with half the per-
manent collection galleries
open 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; the
remainder open 1:30 p.m.-
5:30 p.m.
The museum will be open
Wednesday through Sunday.
