Baldwin Library
Kids' Programs

The Baldwin Public Library
will offer a schedule for kids
in May.
Storyteller Laura Pershin
will appear 7 p.m. May 15 to
entertain with contemporary
and traditional regional
stories.
"Balloon Bonanza Bouti-
que" will be 4-8 p.m. May 21
— a chance for independent
artists to create their own
balloon figures in a drop-in
craft session.
"Bunyan and Banjos" is set
for 7-8 p.m. May 23 — musi-
cian, folksinger, and story-
teller Kitty Donohoe will pre-
sent original and traditional
stories and songs for
Michigan Week. Registration
begins May 13.
Smaller Fry and Friend will
be 10-10:30 a.m. or 11-11:30
a.m. May 3, 10, 17 — ages
18-36 months with adult.
Registration began April 23.
The program features stories,
action games, fingerplays and
simple crafts that build
socialization and developmen-
tal skills.
Prechool Storytime for ages
3-5 is set for 10-10:30 a.m. or
2-2:30 p.m. May 14, 28 and
2-2:30 p.m. May 15, 29 and
features stories, action games
and fingerplays for the in-
dependent listener. No
registration is required.

Community Band
Sets Concert

The Farmington Communi-
ty Band, in cooperation with
the Farmington Area Arts
Commission and Farmington
Public Schools, will honor
local handicapped and senior
citizens with a concert 3 p.m.
May 5 at Harrison High
School.
The performance will in-
clude many band favorites.
Admission is free; there will
be refreshments.

Symphony Orchestra in the
second of two weeks of con-
cers in a program highlighted
by the Detroit debut of Xerox

5 at Orchestra Hall. The pro-
gram also will include Pro-
kofiev's Symphony No. 6.
