JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE OFFERS HELP
WHERE HELP IS NEEDED.

Jewish Family Service has a tradi-
tion of offering quality group therapy
and workshops. There are currently a
large variety of support groups that
have openings for new participants. If
you are interested in any of the groups
that are now being offered for Spring/
Summer, please contact the group
leader for additional information.

KIDDUSHIN IS FOR KEEPS

A new workshop for pre-marital
couples, deals with important topics
such as: the meaning of love and
commitment through marriage, the art
of communication, sexuality and
marriage, and money management.
The next four week session will
begin in early summer, one weekday
evening, 7-9 pm.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR
FAMILIES OF MILITARY
PERSONNEL

The on-going support group for
families of Jewish military personnel
will enable participants to discuss their
issues and share information.
Weekly Sessions
Time: Mondays,3:30 - 5:00 pm

SIBLINGS OF CHILDREN
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.

The group will offer siblings an
opportunity to express some feelings,
concerns and problems they may
encounter in having a brother or sister
who may be physically or mentally
impaired or have a chronic medical
illness.
The group will be focused on
helping siblings recognize how to get
their own needs met and to learn
positive coping skills.
The next six week session will
begin in early summer.
One hour sessions will be scheduled
once enrollment is made.

MARITAL THERAPY GROUP

Ongoing Marital Therapy Group
focuses on discussing relationships,
communication and intimacy problems,
parental roles, job pressures, money
management and a variety of other
topics.

The group's focus is on making
choices and the issues that block you
from doing so, the concerns you
have in risk taking, and balancing
responsibility.

The short term therapy group for

stresses, and family relationships.

The ongoing psychotherapy group
for Seniors deals with a variety of
topics such as issues involving grow-
ing older, dealing with spouses and
children, grieving a recent loss and a
variety of other topics relevant to
getting older.

The women's group focuses on
working through the trauma of child-
hood incest and sexual abuse by
relieving isolation, reacquiring feelings
that have been buried in order to
function more appropriately and to get
more pleasure from life.

MALE SURVIVORS OF
CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

NAME

CHILDREN OF DIVORCE

The group focuses on the impact
that child sexual abuse has on adult
male survivors. Issues about relation-
ships, gender role socialization, sense
of isolation and responsibilities will be
discussed.
The first session will begin in early
June.
Long-term treatment group

RESETTLEMENT
SERVICE HOSTS
BOOK SIGNING

Resettlement Service published its
first cookbook of authentic Russian
recipes, With A Russian Flavor,
written by a group of elderly Soviet
women residing in Teitel Federation
Apartments.
A book signing featuring the
authors of this unique cookbook will
be held on Thursday, May 23, at 7
to 9 pm, at Book Beat, 26010
Greenfield Road in Oak Park.
Samples of the recipes (just like
your Bubbie made) from the cook-
book will be served.
The cost of the cookbook is a $7
minimum donation. All proceeds
will benefit Operation Exodus.
