Frederick Rabbi Schwartz of Temple Sholom, Chicago, will be the Samuel Hamburger Scholar-in- Residence May 10-11 at Tem- ple Emanu-El. Rabbi Schwartz did graduate work at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, where he was ordained in 1955, earned his Doctor of Hebrew Letters degree in 1960, and was awarded an honorary doc- torate in 1980. At Temple Emanu-El, Rab- bi Schwartz will speak on "In Conflict With God" at the Shabbat evening service, 8:15 p.m. May 10. On Saturday morning, May 11 he will speak on "From Egypt to Sinai?' At the annual con- gregational meeting 9:15 a.m. May 12, he will discuss "The Four Party System: From The '70s To The '90s." Temple Emanu-El's Schol- ar-In-Residence is sponsored by the Samuel Hamburger Endowment Fund.
