Ann Arbor May 22.
Members and guests will
participate in the exhibits at
the museum, enjoy dairy
desserts and listen to live
music performed by recently
immigrated Russian Jews.
Carpools will form at Sinai
Hospital's Goldin Building on
Farmington Road at 6:45 p.m.

will hold a weekend Shab-
baton May 3-4 featuring
writer and author Julius
Lester.
The professor of Judaic and
Near Eastern Studies at the
University of Massachusetts
will give presentations
relating to his autobiograph-
ical book Lovesong: Becoming
A Jew.
Events will begin at 12:30
p.m. May 3 with a study/
lunch entitled "Blacks and
Jews in American History." A
6 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat ser-
vice will be followed by a
Shabbat family dinner. Pro-
fessor Lester will present a
program on "Jewish Prayer
With Musical Examples."
Shabbat activities are plann-
ed for the youngsters.
Professor Lester will speak
on "My Journey to Judaism,"
an autobiographical account
9 a.m. May 4 at Shabbat ser-
vices. That evening there will
be a dialogue and dessert at
9:30 p.m. at the home of Ruby
and Richard Kushner.
The weekend is sponsored
by the Synagogue's Adult
Study Commission. There are
charges for the study/lunch
and the Shabbat dinner. For
reservations by April 29, call
the synagogue office,
