Detroit Section, will hold its
annual installation luncheon
11:30 a.m. May 7 at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield.
Following the formal
meeting and lunch, a musical
show, written by Stuart
LaKind, will be presented.
Two Hannah G. Solomon
Awards will be made to sec-
tion members Sondra Nathan
and Ann Daniels.
Officers to be installed for
the 1991-1992 year are: presi-
dent, Carol Sue Coden; vice
presidents, Rose Lynn
Schlussel, Marilyn Levine,
Janelle Miller, Judy Rosen-
berg, Ann Zousmer, Claire
Kretchmer; secretaries, Janet
Feinberg, Joyce Sosin, Mar-

Fourteen members of the
National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Sec-
tion, will attend the NCJW
Central District Convention
April 25-28 in Minneapolis.
Accompanying Section Pre-
sident Carol Sue Coden will
be: Barbara Grant, Helen
Shevin, Claire Kretchmer,
Terran Leemis, Marilyn Le-
vine, Kim Lifton, Janelle
Miller, Sondra Nathan, Judy
Rosenberg, Rose Lynn
Schlussel, Hope Silverman,
Rena Shanaman and Ann
Zousmer.
The meeting will focus on
topics ranging from enhance-
ment of volunteer skills
and effective leadership to
involvement in public af-
fairs. There will be a presen-
tation on child and elder care
as well as a talk by NCJW
National President Joan
Bronk.

Elaine Rembrandt

Women's Division=
HearsActress

Elaine Rembrandt, director
of visual and performing arts
at the Jewish Community
Center of Cleveland, will
entertain the Jewish Welfare
Federation Women's Division
at its 45th annual meeting
9:30 a.m. May 15 at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.
Ms. Rembrandt is a profes-
sional actress who appears in
radio and television commer-
cials and in industrial films.
A speech and theater
graduate of Case-Western
Reserve University, Ms. Rem-
brandt has taught and led
children's theater groups.
On a recent tour of the
Soviet Union, she and five
other actors performed
Jewish theater pieces in
Moscow, Leningrad and
Odessa.
Coffee and registration are
at 9:15 a.m., and the program
at 9:45 a.m. Luncheon will be
served, and there is a fee.
Babysitting will be available
upon request.

Dinner, Panel

The Business and Profes-
sional Branch of National
Council of Jewish Women —
Greater Detroit Section will
meet 6 p.m. April 23 at the
NCJW office. The evening's
activities will begin with din-
ner served followed by a
business session and a
presentation.
A panel discussion, entitled
"Women in a New World:
Relocation of Russian Jewish
Women," will deal with the
fears, frustrations, and hopes
of recent Jewish Russian im-
migrants. A question and
answer period will follow.
Ms. Karol Moxley, super-
visor of refugee employment
services at Jewish Vocational
Service, will be moderator.
