PRIVATE HOME
PORTRAITURE
QUESTION: Doesn't it make
sense for a home owner to set
the selling price for his own
home?
formerly of
LosAngeles
ANSWER: Since human-
nature is predictable, there is a
better than even chance that
you'll put the wrong selling price
on your home. You may price it
far above its fair market value
because of sentimental attach-
ment or expenditures you have
made. A home remaining on the
market for months due to over-
pricing, frequently becomes a
"White Elephant." It eventually
sells for a much lower figure.
Or, you might under-price it.
Your safest bet is to list it with a
Realtor who will help you price it
correctly.
