Dr. Max G. Aiken, 73, of
Bloomfield Hills, died April 4.
Dr. Aiken was a dentist in
Huntington Woods. He was
active with the Detroit and
Oakland County Dental
Societies, the Alpha Omega
Dental Fraternity, and the
Professional division of the
Allied Jewish Campaign.
He leaves his wife, Hope;
son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Robert and Ellen of Penn
Valley, Pa.; daughter and son-
in-law, Dr. Carol Aiken and
Andrew Zaikis of Marble-
head, Mass.; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Dorothy and
Joseph Bluestein of Oak
Park, Harriet and John
Mishark of Winona, Minn.;

Bingham Trustee

Miriam L. Barris, 70, of
Bingham Farms, died April 7.
Mrs. Barris served as a
trustee of the Village of
Bingham Farms for 10 years
and was active in the Cancer
Support Group at Temple
Israel. She was a member of
Women's American ORT and
the National Council of
Jewish Women for which she
worked as a children's ad-
vocate in the Oakland Coun-
ty Court system.
She leaves her husband,
Donald; children, William
and Arlene Barris of West
Bloomfield, Peggy and Harry
Ellman of Birmingham, and
Karen and Alan Bragman of
Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Beatrice
Hertz; seven grandchildren.

Local Businessman

Lewis S. Grossman, 72, died
March 26.
Mr. Grossman co-founded a
Detroit real estate business,
Grossman Development Com-
pany, with his brother Alan.
He was former president of
the Detroit Chapter of the
American Jewish Committee
and the Jewish Community
Council of Metropolitan
Detroit. In 1973, he was the
