YOU COULD BE A WINNER
AT
Holocaust have occurred? It
was up to me to stand before
a glass case of human bones,
it was up to me to behold
beautiful golden braids tied
into bows with shreds of
striped uniforms. Yet so much
more importantly, it was then
up to me to answer the ques-
tion why. It could not have
been up to me to find the will
to ask questions.
I had sat through classes
just weeks earlier, while I
listened to journal entries,
but I did not hear. I had walk-
ed through glass encased
museums where I looked, but
did not see. The information
was made available to me.
The choice was there for me.
I made a personal decision to
open my heart and reaffirm
my faith. I had the opportuni-
ty to begin the road to becom-
ing everything I could ever
want to be. Now here I am. I
have full faith in God, and
ironically, I also have full
faith in humankind.
I would never have taken
that first step had I not the
opportunity to learn.
