Fact is, more Americans
may die by the fork than by
any other weapon. That's
because so many of them
use it irresponsibly. Like
to fill up on high-fat, high-
cholesterol foods. Foods •
that can load the blood with
cholesterol, which can build
up plaque in their arteries,
increasing their risk of
heart attacks and threaten-
ing their lives. So next time
you pick up a fork, remem-
ber to handle it as you
would any other weapon.
For self-defense, not
self-destruction.

he Children's Museum
Friends will host the
third annual Great
Doll and Toy Auction at 6
p.m. April 18 at the Rooster-
tail in Detroit. The evening
will feature dinner and
entertainment by Detroit
area youth along with live
and silent auctions of quali-
ty dolls and toys.
Dayna Eubanks from
WJBK-TV2 will be the
mistress of ceremonies while
Joe Walker of DuMouchelle
Galleries will be the auc-
tioneer. The committee co-
chairmen are Ann

Greenstone and Ronald
Reed. Doug Mann and
Frances Quaint are also
dedicated volunteers for the
Children's Museum, located
in the Cultural Center.
"Once again we will
feature dolls and toys as well
as trips and restaurant
packages in the benefit auc-
tion. Our focus on dolls and
toys is in keeping with the
museum's spirit of educating
"and entertaining children,"
said Mrs. Greenstone.
Riki Schaffer, of the
Riki Schaffer Gallery on
the Boardwalk, has donated
six one-of-a-kind dolls for the
auction. One is a hand-
painted jester which retails
for $1200. "It's been a suc-
cessful auction, and they
have a committed group,"
says Ms. Schaffer.

Friends at 494-1223.

OSCAR WINNER
Sandy and Jim Rubin
are ecstatic about their son
Bruce Joel Rubin winn-
ing an Oscar for his
screenplay Ghost. The
Rubins had a small family
gathering at their home to
watch the Academy Awards.
"We all watched. When he
was announced as the
winner, everyone screamed
and cried. It was quite an
event," said Mr. Rubin.
Some of the people who
shared the excitement in-
cluded: Betsy Leemon,
Alan Meyers, Esther
Greenhouse, Pearl Sachs,
Phyllis and Al Newman,
Adam and Eric Leemon,
Ben and Lil Chinitz,
Estelle and Jerry Rosen,
Clara and Mo Robbins,
Ruth and Leo Seligson
and Cora and Jack
Feldman
The Rubin family has been
congratulated with hun-
dreds of phone calls from
family and friends, some as
far away as Australia and
the Soviet Union.
