Bible Issues
Class Set

The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies and Congre-
gation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses are co-sponsoring a
course being taught by Dr. Zvi
Gitelman, professor of politi-
cal science, the University of
Michigan 8:30-9:30 p.m. April
8-29 at Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses. The course is entitled,
"Toward a Better Understan-
ding of Puzzling Episodes in
the Bible."
Dr. Gitelman will focus on
four episodes of the Bible
which raise difficult moral
issues, discuss how they have
been interpreted and what
the commentators' views are
of issues such as miracles,
faith, sin, prophecy and
leadership. The episodes are
the near-sacrifice of Isaac; the
blessings Isaac gives to Jacob
and Esau; two episodes in
Moses' life — the revolt of
Korah and Moses striking the
rock; the talking donkey of
Bilam.
The course is open to the
community. There is a charge.
For information, call the
Midrasha 352-7117; or Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses,

851-6880.
