12 Neo-Nazis Arrested Bonn (JTA) — Twelve neo- Nazis were arrested last week in Munich for display- ing Nazi symbols prohibited by law. The encounter occurred outside the Munich Muse- um, where an extreme right- wing group called the Revi- sionists held a meeting, a result of the overturning of a ban on their assembling which had been imposed by the Bavarian authorities. The ban on assembly was overruled by a court order. A three judge panel decided the group could stage what they billed an "international multimedia show." While Bavaria's interior minister, Edmund Stoiber, said the state would challenge the court's deci- sion, he admitted there was no legal way to prevent the Revisionists from using the museum. As their name implies, the group denies that Jews were systematically murdered by the Nazis. Their rally was devoted mainly to the Leuchter Report, a spurious document written by an American, Fred Leuchter, who visited the sites of several former death camps and concluded "scientifically" that gas chambers never existed. Mr. Leuchter, a Boston area resident, is currently on trial for practicing engineer- ing in Massachusetts without a license. Haifa R.&R. For U.S. Fleet Tel Aviv (JTA) — More than 12,000 officers and sailors of the U.S. Sixth Fleet will enjoy shore leave in Israel this week after see- ing action in the Persian Gulf war. Five ships, fresh from the war zone, are due in Haifa to give their crews five days of rest and relaxation while they undergo repairs and maintenance at Israel shipyards on Haifa Bay. The visitors are the helicopter carriers Nassau and Guam and the landing craft Portland, Pensacola and Lamour County. All but the Guam, which has - too deep a draft, will enter the Haifa shipyard, providing much-needed business. Meanwhile, the Haifa municipality and various volunteer organizations are arranging to entertain the American sailors.
