Music Society
Hosts Quartet

The Chamber Music Socie-
ty of Detroit will present the
Tokyo String Quartet in con-
cert 8 p.m. April 3 at Or-
chestra Hall. In its 21st
season, this ensemble of
Eastern and Western musi-
cians regularly appears in the
major music centers of the
world. Tickets are available

Officially formed in 1969 at
the Julliard School of Music,
the Tokyo String Quartet is
made up of Peter Oundjian,
violinist; Kikuei Ikeda,
violinist; Kazuhide Isomura,
violinist; and Sadao Harada,
cellist. For their Detroit per-
formance the quartet will per-
form Mozart's Quartet No. 20
in D Major; Takemitsu's
Away Alone and Beethoven's

Quartet in B Flat Major with
Grosse Fugue.

Art Expo, Sale_
At Maple-Drake

The second annual interna-
tional Art Expo and Sale will
be held April 7-17 at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center.
The artists are Itzik Ben
Shalom, Leon Bronstein,
Miriam Libhaber, Dora Lif-
shitz, Sara Mekler, Aviho
Mizrachi, Yosef Sassoon,
Michael Shacham. Jerry So-
ble, Gila Stein, Sara Szold.
They represent Israel, Mexico
and the United States.
This show will feature
sculptures, paintings and
woods.
An opening-day reception
will be held with the artists
1-3 p.m. April 7.

JCC Hosts
DIA Tour

The Jewish Community
Center, in conjunction with
West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation, will host an "Arts
and Flowers: Festival of
Spring Tour" April 17 at the
Detroit Institute of Arts.
This bi-annual celebration
will feature floral displays
complementing selected
works of art. The trip includes
transportation, docent-led
tour and lunch at the Kresge
Court (on your own).
The bus will depart the
Maple-Drake building at 10
a.m. and the Jimmy Prentis
Morris building at 10:30 a.m.
