Ms. Bohn mentions the China Seas
line with the ever popular summer
colors of white and blue.
One sure seller is the silk bomber
jacket with navy, gray and gold. "It
looks great with a navy trouser or
skirt," says Ms. Bohn.

• Nancy Rice, buyer of Claymore
Shops, observes the new emphasis
on separates. Jackets, shirts, skirts and
walking shorts come in a variety of
styles and fabrics to mix and match
at the Birmingham store.
"Linen and spring are synonymous,"
says Ms. Rice. She also notices the
importance of "cool wools" — wools
with lightweight fabric.
There is not one key color this
season, according to Ms. Rice. The
store offers a wide variety of pale
neutrals, salmon, sky blue, khaki and
chocolate.
"Not everyone likes the same color.
One color theme limits the salability.
We run the gamut here," adds Ms.
Rice.
One high quality line Ms. Rice
suggests is Laurey, a division of
Escada. This season Laurel has some
beautiful Roman prints and exotic
safari looks. Ms. Rice believes that
Laurel is great for the buyer who
loves Escada, but wants affordable
clothing.
• Ray Epstein of Ray and Ida,
notes the strong retro look. "We have
a coordinated grouping of Pucci
prints in blazers and blouses. It looks
great with white cotton," she says.

• Roz and Sherm has new lines
for this season, according to buyer
Anne Frank. "The Cheap and Chic
line is very contemporary with suits
and separates. It's fun and the clothes
put a smile on your face," says Ms.
Frank.
Another fashionable line at Roz and
Sherm is Byblos. The retro look is
strong with the Pucci prints and the
bright yellow jackets. Ms. Frank notes
that Roz and Sherm offers the sixties
look with a nineties twist.
Also look for some great rainwear by
Hino and Malee and other designers
in slick bright colors.
Roz and Sherm will also carry the
full line of designers Badgley Misch-
ka.
Anne Frank has an encouraging
note for prospective buyers: "We
have styles for every figure."
