sixth annual donor of the
Detroit Chapter of the
American Women for Bar-
Ilan University April 15. The
donor luncheon will be hosted
by Miriam Ferber and will
feature Hope Palmer, who
will speak on "Women Ar-
tists: A Different Muse." It
also will include the installa-
tion of the chapter's new of-
ficers and board.
Ms. Glass has long been ac-
tive in the Jewish communi-
ty in the Women's Division of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion, Hadassah and other
organizations.

Joseph Golden will speak at
the meeting of Business and
Professional Branch of Na-
tional Council of Jewish
Women — Greater Detroit
Section (NCJW) 6 p.m. March
26 at the NCJW office. The
evening's activities will begin
with dinner, followed by a
brief business session and the
presentation.
The presentation, entitled
"Female Discrimination in
the Workplace," will give in-
sight to rights as an employee
and how to cope with job
discrimination and wrongful
discharge. A question and
answer period will follow.
Mr. Golden is a member of
the law firm Sommers,
Schwartz, Silver and
Schwartz, where he is
developing the firm's section
on employee rights. He serv-
ed as general counsel to the
Michigan Federation of
Teachers. He has lectured
about employee rights issues.

dinner.

With the increasing
number of Soviet Jews corn-
ing to the Detroit area, more
volunteers are needed to help
resettle them into the Jewish
community. Many other op-
portunities for volunteer ser-
vices also exist.
To recruit participants for
its Hours for Ours program,
the Women's Division of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
will make a presentation
about volunteer opportunities
for men and women 9:30 a.m.
April 18, at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center.
Beginning with a continen-
tal breakfast, the program
will be followed by a tour of
Jewish Home for Aged
Fleischman Residence. Op-
portunities at the Jewish
Community Center, Sinai
Hospital, Jewish Family Ser-
vice and Resettlement Ser-
vice also will be highlighted.
Agency volunteer coor-
dinators will be on hand to
answer questions, and
volunteers will share their
experiences.
_Admission is free, and
babysitting is available at a
charge. The community is
invited.

Women's ORT
Hosts Games Day

Women's American ORT
will sponsor a day of golf and
other games June 3 at Bogie
Lake Golf Club.
A continental breakfast
will precede the day's ac-
tivities. It will be followed
by an 18-hole scrambler
tournament.
For those who don't golf,
maj, bridge and scrabble will
be available. Lunch will be
served and prizes awarded.

Livonia Women
Plan Program

The Livonia Jewish Con-
gregation Sisterhood will
meet 8 p.m. March 26 at the
synagogue.
There will be Passover cook-
ing/baking demonstrations
and recipes exchanged. There
is no charge.
