In cooperation with middle school teachers, the Musical Society is providing up to 1400 discounted tickets for students and chaperones. For information and seat availability, call Michael Kondziolka, 763-3100. The Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre has three pm-poses: to help young people understand and ap- preciate dance as an art form, to understand and appreciate the dancer's discipline and training, and finally, to en- courage young people to think of dance as a viable career choice. The first part of "Chance to Dance" deals verbally and visually with the dancer's training in ballet, modern, and jazz dance, each discuss- ed and then illustrated in a short example of a training class. The second part of the program is a performance of some of the Chicago Dance Theatre's repertoire, accom- panied by an explanation of each work. In the final sec- tion, the dancers introduce themselves and talk about their backgrounds followed by a question and answer ses- sion in which all dancers and the artistic director Randy Duncan participate. The Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre will give an evening performance in the Musical Society's Choice Series 8 p.m. April 2 in the Power Center for the Performing Arts.
