Gottlieb, 84, of Tamarac, Fla., formerly of Southfield, who was director of Guardian Savings and Loan in Detroit, died March 13. Mr. Gottlieb, born in Suwalki, Poland, emigrated to the United States in 1921. He spent most of his life in Southfield, and he retired to Florida. He was an active member of Congregation Beth Achim. Mr. Gottlieb is survived by his wife, Florence; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Arlene of West Bloom- field, Jerald of Franklin, Alan and Arlene of West Bloom- field; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Robert M. Bishop Robert M. Bishop, 64, of Tamarac, Fla., formerly of Detroit, died March 20. Mr. Bishop founded The Bootery, which later became Mr. Alan's. He moved to Detroit in 1963 and started the business shortly after. He was a long-time member of Temple Israel. He leaves his wife, Mildred; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Brian Cohen of West Bloomfield; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Lori Bishop of West Bloom- field; brother and sister-in- law, Jerry and Louise of Florida; eight grandchildren. Bessie Kornwise Bessie Kornwise, 83, of Southfield, died March 26. She was a member of Con- gregation Shaarey Zedek, its sisterhood and past treasurer and financial secretary. She was also a member of Hadassah, Zionist Organiza- tion of America, ORT, Na- tional Council of Jewish Women and an organizer of B'nai David Sisterhood and Young Women's Mizrachi.
