The Informed Theatergoer,
a four-week playgoing class
led by local critic Kenneth
Jones, will begin April 15
sponsored by Southfield
Public Schools Community
Education.
Designed to help theater-
goers approach theater in a
more critical manner, the
class emphasizes discussion of
content vs. presentation.
Local professional produc-
tions will be evaluated begin-
ning with the fundamental
question, "What is this play
about?"
Other questions will center
on design, direction, text and
the nature of live perfor-
mance itself.
Students are required to at-
tend three assigned produc-
tions at their own expense.
The Informed Theatergoer
will run Mondays, 7-9:30 p.m.,
April 15-May 6 at Southfield-
Lathrup High School. Enroll-
ment cost is $24 and registra-
tion is required. For details,
call the Community Educa-
tion Center, 746-8700.
