MYSTIC MOUNTAIN BLACK SPRUCE GARDEN OF DREAMS TREES DRAPED IN AUTUMN SILENT MEADOW AUTUMN FIELDS Women In Art At Orchard Ridge The Women in Art Project, co-sponsored by the Oakland Community College Womencenter and Oakland County N.OW., will present the fifth annual Women in Art — Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow exhibition, through March 24 at OCC's Orchard Ridge Campus. Coinciding with Women's History Month, this inter- disciplinary multimedia celebration of the arts will be a professional showcase for local women's art, providing a networking forum and an op- portunity for OCC students and the general public to view and experience the work of women artists. The celebra- tion is comprised of two distinct artist presentations in the Smith Theatre and gallery: the Women in Art Exhibit and Sale, and Poetry in the Gallery. The Art Exhibit is a juried event providing women a vehicle and space to compete, show and sell their work. Jurors are Mary Stephenson of the Detroit Institute of Arts and Linda Banks-Ord of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Association. This year 66 pieces have been selected. "Best of the Show" will be featured on this year's art show catalog cover. Poetry in the Gallery, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 20 is an informal evening forum for poets to read their works. It will be followed by a reception in the Smith Theatre. In addition to these events, the Womencenter's 19th An- nual Celebration of Interna- tional Women's Day will take place March 16, with music and dance from around the world. Shea Howell will speak on "Women and Peacemak- ing!' For information, call the OCC Womencenter, Orchard Ridge Campus, 471-7602.
