The talk is part of a series of political awareness lectures sponsored by the Jewish Welfare Federation Young Adult Division. Professor Tanter is on the faculty of the University of Michigan's Political Science Department. Under Presi- dent Ronald Reagan, he serv- ed as senior staff member of the National Security Coun- cil, with responsibilities for the Middle East. In his lecture, Professor Tanter will discuss the rise of Arab nationalism, the forma- tion of the Palestine Libera- tion Organization, Israel's wars and the Camp David Accords. The series is being organiz- ed by Elizabeth Kanter and Barbara Cohn, chairmen of the YAD Political Awareness Committee, and James Bellinson and Beth Cohen, associate chairmen. There is a charge. JPI Sets Passover Program The Jewish Parents In- stitute will host an annual Passover Seder Luncheon noon March 24 at the Maple- Drake Jewish Community Center. The afternoon will include a reading of a Haggadah writ- ten by JPI parents, a Passover lunch, choir music performed by JPI students, and adults, and community folk dancing following the program. The Jewish Community Center and the Bais Chabad Centers of West Bloomfield and Farmington Hills will set up a Matzah Factory 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. March 17-24 at the Maple-Drake Jewish Com- munity Center. Visitors will receive a baker's hat, a piece of "shmurah" matzah, and a pamphlet describing the celebration of Passover and the reasons for the holiday foods. Each participant will make his own piece of mat- zah, from the mixing of flour and water, and see it put in the oven. A film will be shown.
