At Adat Shalom

Cantor Howard Glantz will
join the Adat Shalom
Synagogue staff on July 1 as
associate cantor.
Cantor Glantz and his wife,
Dayna, will move to Detroit
from Port Chester, N.Y., where
he has served as cantor at
Congregation Kneses Tifer-
eth Israel since 1989. A
graduate of the University of
Massachusetts, he entered
the Cantors Institute of the
Jewish Theological Seminary
in 1985. His five year pro-
gram of study included a year
in Israel at Neve Schecter and
four years in New York,
where he studied sacred and
secular music, composition,
music theory, cantorial
recitatives and liturgy. He is
the founder of the cantors'
Dor E Dor program, which
enables one generation of
chazzanim to nurture and
help shape the next.
Cantor Glantz is trained
both medically and ritually to
perform brit milah. He is a
past president of the Cantors
Institute student body and
serves the Cantors Assembly
as Dor E Dor chairman.
