shipping 2,000 Passover "gift
packs" for distribution to
Jewish service people in
Operation Desert Storm.
The donation and shipment
of 2,000 "gift packs" was coor-
dinated by Charles Koch of
the Joseph Jacobs Organiza-
tion and Rabbi David Lapp,
director of the JWB Jewish
Chaplain's Council.
The Joseph Jacobs
Organization, New York, is
an advertising and marketing
firm specializing in the
Jewish market. Established
in 1919, the company repre-
sents all of the Jewish publi-
cations in the U.S. and
Canada.
JWB Jewish Chaplain's
Council, a service of the
Jewish Community Centers
Association of North
America, is the U.S.
government-accredited agen-
cy for the religious, Jewish
educational and recreational
needs of Jewish military per-
sonnel and their families.

Infiltrators
Killed by IDF

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Six heav-
ily armed infiltrators from
Jordan were killed in a run-
ning battle with Israel
Defense Force soldiers in. the
Beit She'an Valley.
Three soldiers were
wounded, two slightly and
one moderately.
The encounter, the second
in less than a month with in-
filtrators from Jordan,
began about 1.5 miles
southeast of Kibbutz That
Zvi.
The intruders penetrated
the border security fence
under cover of darkness,
after crossing the Jordan
River on a makeshift rope
bridge. They were con-
fronted by an IDF patrol,
and a brief exchange of fire
ensued, during which three
soldiers were wounded.
The bearded intruders
were armed with
Kalachnikov assault rifles,
rocket-propelled grenades
and launchers and hand
grenades. Each carried a
copy of the Koran and scraps
of paper with quotations
from the Islamic holy book.
Military officials have
taken serious note of the in-
creased number of incidents
along the once quiescent
Jordanian border.
