A RESOURCE CENTER
But serious questions re-
main unanswered.
America has recently learn-
ed there are some nations
with whom, like it or not, one
cannot deal reasonably. If an
Arab state is willing to
violate sovereignty, pillage
and plunder its Arab neigh-
bor, how will they deal with
their enemy, the Jew?
If a "peace treaty" is mere-
ly a smoke screen to negotiate
Israel into an insecure posi-
tion, while the Arabs bide
their time, what is it
worth? .. .
From Israel's point of view,
is America capable of being a
legitimate guarantor? Ameri-
ca was willing to see Israelis
terrorized, bombed, and made
homeless, while puting pres-
sure on her not to retaliate.
Should Israel accept Ameri-
ca's definition of an accep-
table level of Jewish casual-
ties before retaliation be-
comes appropriate? .. .
The Palestinians were ex-
tremely depressed at the
results of the recent war .. .
Yet President Bush's call for
return of "occupied ter-
ritories" can benefit and give
heart only to Jordan or the
PLO . . .
Flush with victory, the most
popular American president
ever has made some bold
statements regarding peace
in the Middle East. It re-
mains to be seen whether or
not he can deliver the goods.
