Bolkosky Sets
Violin Concert
Gabriel Bolkosky, 17-year-
old violinist, will perform the
first movement of the Violin
Concerto in D Minor by Aram
Khachaturian with the De-
troit Symphony Civic Or-
chestra 7 p.m. Mar. 3 at Or-
chestra Hall.
Gabriel, one of the winners
of the Civic Orchestra 1991
concerto competition, has
been with the orchestra for
six years and has been its con-
certmaster for two years. He
also won the competition in
1989. Gabriel has received
the Music Study Club of
Detroit's Jonathon Paul
Miller Memorial Scholarship
since 1985 and was twice win-
ner of the Michigan Young
Artists competition sponsored
by the Jewish Community
Center and the Michigan
Council for the Arts.
The program will also fea-
ture solos on trombone and
flute. The concert is free.
