Congregation Shir Tikvah's
Sisterhood will hold its
Sisterhood Sabbath 7:45 p.m.
Feb. 22. A new service compil-
ed for Shir Tikvah by Ruth
Kranitz and Marilyn West
will be used.
The speaker will be
Parichehr Yomtoob, president
of District II, National
Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods. Ms. Yomtoob,
author, educator and activist,
was born in Teheran and
educated at Teheran Univer-
sity. She is the author of Gift
of Life, a chronicle of her fami-
ly's struggle to secure a donor
for her then-13-year-old son,
afflicted with Wilson's
disease.

Glennwood ORT
Passover Plans

Glennwood Chapter of
Women's American ORT will
meet with Floreen Halpern of
Amaryllis Catering, 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 27 at the home of Phyllis
Dubrinsky, 25246 Bran-
chaster, Farmington Hills, to
discuss the planning of a
healthful Passover meal. She
will provide menus, share
holiday recipes and
demonstrate how to make
stylish, imaginative
tablesettings.
Horty Falk, of Balmoral
Chapter, will open the
SPARC campaign by speak-
ing about the benefits of be-
ing an ORT member. Refresh-
ments will be served along
with samples from the
Passover demonstration.

Hold Meeting

The Ladies of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah will host a pre-
Purim luncheon meeting
noon Feb. 20 at the yeshivah.
Hostesses for the afternoon
will be Rosa Grunfeld, Edith
Weiss and Leah Yoffe.

The Business and Profes-
sional Branch of National
Council of Jewish Women —
Greater Detroit Section will
meet 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at the
NCJW office. The evening's
activities will begin with din-
ner followed by a brief
business session and a
presentation.
The presentation, titled
"Entering/Reentering the
Work Force" by Judith Hop-
pin will give insight as to how
to plan strategies as well as
cope with emotional reactions
relating to successful re-
employment. A question and
answer period will follow.
Judith Hoppin is associated
with the Continuum Center
of Oakland University. She
has a master's degree in
counseling and has been
working in the fields of career
planning and outplacement
for the past 15 years.

Lunch, Meeting

"The Development of the
Haggadah" will be the theme
of the annual midwinter
meeting of Michigan Branch
of Women's League for Con-
servative Judaism noon Feb.
25 at Congregation Beth
Achim. Esther Tarnoff
Cooper, from the Speakers
Bureau, Detroit Institute of
Arts, will present a different
story about Passover. Lunch
will be served.
Ms. Cooper has been a pro-
fessional commercial artist
for the past 10 years. She has
taught courses in Jewish art
at Oakland Community Col-
lege, the Southfield Com-
munity Education Center
and the Midrasha, College of
Jewish Studies.
Lunch will only be prepared
for those who have pre-
registered by Feb. 18. There is
