ticular ad, Mr. Sokolof said
he had contacted
McDonald's often over the
last couple of years about the
fat in the foods the restau-
rant serves.
"They pride themselves on
their quality, and basically
the quality meat and so forth
is good, but they, as you
know, have a lot of saturated
fat in french fries and ham-
burgers and we're trying to
get them to lower it. If the
public eats less saturated
fat, they are going to lower
their cholesterol." Mr.
Sokolof said.
Kellie Zych, chief dietician
at Kansas City's Menorah
Medical Center, said she felt
a little sorry for McDonald's
when she heard about the
ads.
"It is true that there is a lot
of saturated fat in fast foods.
But McDonald's has done a
lot to offer choices." ❑
