used by the hotel. Town-
house owners would have
had access to the hotel's
recreational facilities.
But the townhouses were
never built.
Also on the Grossinger
property is a 50-acre lake, an
outdoor Olympic-size pool
and a glass-enclosed indoor
pool, an Olympic-size ice
skating rink, a dining room
that can serve 700, facilities
for winter skiing, indoor and
outdoor tennis courts and
four large private homes.
Keen Realty Consultants
recently placed ads in the
New York Times and the
Wall Street Journal announ-
cing the bankruptcy sale.
Several hundred flyers an-
nouncing the sale were also
sent to potential buyers.
"Quite a few" flyers, said
Mr. Silver, were sent to
possible purchasers in
Japan, where golf is a na-
tional craze. They might be
attracted to Grossinger's
Professional Golf Associ-
ation championship golf
course, he said.
Keen Realty will also soon
erect a billboard announcing
the bankruptcy sale at the
exit nearest to the hotel
along Route 17, the main
highway linking New York
City and the Catskills.

El Al Offers
Charter Flights

New York — On Jan. 23, El
Al inaugurated the first in a
series of 20 charter flights
between Tel Aviv and Moscow,
departing Wednesdays. El Al
flight 6365 departed Tel Aviv
carrying tourists, business
people and Israeli's visiting
relatives.
Israel's Transport Minister
Moshe Katsav stated, "El Al
hopes that these charter
flights between Tel Aviv and
Moscow will lead to a perma-
nent airlink between Israel
and Russia."
El Al is operating on a nor-
mal schedule worldwide. To-
day, there were 27 El Al
flights, including four cargo
flights and three flights car-
rying 500 Russian immi-
grants to Tel Aviv.
El Al is presently the only
airline operating flights into
and out of Israel, including to
and from the United States.
Between the United States
and Tel Aviv, El Al has daily
flights, except for the
Sabbath.
