Schlussel Wins
B.O.B.B.I. Tourney

Barry Schlussel of the Ben
Lusky Traveling League shot
a 203 game in the final round
to win the second B.O.B.B.I.
(Best Of B'nai B'rith Invita-
tional) Tournament of the
season.
Schlussel bested Dennis
Eder of the Brotherhood-
Eddie Jacobson League, who
shot 199.
The tournament was held
Jan. 6 at Drakeshire Lanes,
Farmington Hills.
A field of 20 of the best
Detroit B'nai B'rith bowlers
entered the tourney, with the
top 16 scorers advancing to a
match-game playoff.
Semi-finalists were Leonard
Berger and Phil Horowitz;
quarter-finalists were Allan
Salomon, Paul Schaefer, Ron
Goodman and Shel Baskin. In
the Sweet 16 were Ivan
Fenyvesi, Mort Friedman,
Keith Kingston, Alan Zupke,
Jeff Eisenberg, Bryan Levine,
Aaron Kales and Mike
Goodwin.
Semi-finalist Horowitz shot
a tournament-high game of
278 in the quarter finals and
a 257 in the Sweet 16 round.
Tourney runner-up Eder had
high games of 242 in the
Sweet 16 and 236 in the
semi-finals.
Tourney director Seymour
Zate said the next B.O.B.B.I.
will be held 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at
Drakeshire.

Battle On Ice

The Wayne State Universi-
ty law school "Bar Stars"
hockey team and the Univer-
sity of Detroit law school
"Titans" will face-off in the
second annual Battle of the
Law Schools for Children's
Hospital of Michigan. The
contest will take place at the
Southfield Civic Center
Arena on Feb. 8 at 8:30 p.m.
