BBYO's winter convention saw some unique skits
at the annual talent show.

In athletic competition,
Chalutzim AZA won the
basketball tournament while
Shira BBG won the volleyball
tournament. Hart AZA took
the AZA ping pong com-
petition and Shira BBG won
BBG ping pong for the second
consecutive year. Rose AZA
won the AZA bowling tourna-
ment, while Shalom Aviv won
BBG bowling.
All-out effort awards for
chapters that successfully en-
tered all phases of regional
convention were given to
Kishon AZA, Achayot BBG,
Aliyah BBG, Disraeli BBG,
Machar BBG, Shalom Aviv
BBG, Shira BBG, and
Shoshanna BBG.



The AZA basketball league
began Jan. 20, and con-
tinues on Sundays through
April. The first week's games
were played at the Windsor
Jewish Community Centre,
while subsequent weeks will
be played at Oakland Com-
munity College, Orchard
Ridge Campus, from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m. Coordinator of
the league is Danny Newman
of Jolson AZA. League ad-
administrator is Dennis
Brenner.



The BBG volleyball league.
began on Jan. 20 and will
be played for seven Sundays
through March 7, from
4:30-6:30 p.m., at the Jewish
Community Center. Coor-
dinator of the league is Julie
Litberg of Shira BBG. League
administrator is Marvis
Johnson.

basketball and volleyball are
available from all chapter
presidents or from the BBYO
Chapter Service Center at
the Jewish Community
Center.



BBYO will hold an adviser
continuing education week-
end on Jan. 25-27 at the
Charles and Florence Milan
BBYO Conference Centre in
Belle River, Ont. The training
weekend will include advisers
from Michigan Region and
Ohio Northern Region.
Featured presenter will be
Ellen Silverman, director of
BBYO's Kentucky-Indiana-
Ohio Region. Planning coor-
dinator for the Adviser
Association is Sheryl Stod-
dard, president.

formal and those attending
may come dated or stag.
A shuttle bus will be provid-
ed at a nominal charge. The
bus will leave the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center 6:30 p.m. and the
United Hebrew Schools
building in Southfield at 7
p.m. The return bus will ar-
rive at UHS at 12:45 a.m. and
the JCC at 1:15 a.m. lb RSVP
