Story Programs
At Library

The West Bloomfield
Township libraries will host
two children's programs.
Family Storytime offers
stories, songs, and activities
for children accompanied by
an adult. Registration is a
must for each program. The
programs at Westacres are a
repeat of the programs at
Main. Register by calling
Main, 682-2120; or Westacres,
363-4022.
At the main library, Feb. 7
at 10:30 to 11 a.m.; register
beginning Jan. 31. At
Westacres, Feb. 14 at 10:30 to
11 a.m.; register beginning
Feb. 7.
Stories, fingerplays and ac-
tivities are offered for the in-
dependent child age 3 to 5 (30
to 40 minutes). Children must
be 3 years old when the ses-
sion begins. Register by call-
ing Main, 682-2120; or
Westacres, 363-4022.
Session II will be Feb.
26-Mar. 27; register beginn-
ing Feb. 12. At the main
library, Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.
or 2 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10:30
a.m. At Westacres, Tuesdays
or Wednesdays 10:30 a.m.

Luncheon, Concert

' The Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra Hall Volunteer Coun-
cil will sponsor classical
music and a luncheon to sup-
port the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra 12:30 p.m. Jan. 25
at Temple Beth El. DSO prin-
cipal clarinet, Theodore Oien,
principal bassoon Robert
Williams, and DSO pianist,
Ellen Weckler will perform a
mini-concert.
Selections to be performed
by the DSO trio include:
Miroshnikov, Scherzo for Bas-
soon and Piano; Mendel-
ssohn, Concertpiece No. 2 in D

Minor for Clarinet, Bassoon,
and Piano; Templeton, Pocket-
size Sonata for Clarinet and
.Piano.

Theodore Bikel
Will Entertain

Actor, singer Theodore
Bikel will appear 8 p.m. Feb.
2 at the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center. He will
be accompanied by his
musical director Elliot
Finkel.
There is a charge and
tickets can be purchased at
the JCC box office and all
Ticketmaster outlets.
This program is funded in
part by the Michigan Council
for the Arts and The Manny
and Natalie Charach Endow-
ment Fund at the JCC.
