Symphony
At Shaarey Zedek

The Southfield Symphony
Orchestra, under the baton of
Douglas Bianchi, will present
Beethoven's Symphony #9 in
D minor 3 p.m. Feb. 3 at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.
Artists appearing in this
choral work are soprano,
Glenda Kirkland; mezzo
soprano, Claritha Buggs;
baritone, Steven Henrikson;
and tenor Cantor Chaim Na-
jman. The Ford Motor Choir
will appear with the sym-
phony. The Orchestra will
also perform Schubert's Un-
finished Symphony, #8 in B
minor.
Glenda Kirland is current-
ly professor of voice at
Eastern Michigan University.
Claritha Buggs is an assis-
tant professor of voice at
MSU.
Steven Hanrikkson is
presently appearing in the
Toronto production of Andrew
Lloyd Webber's Phantom of
the Opera.
Cantor Najman has been
cantor at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek since 1979.
