Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz,
director of Machon L'Torah,
the Jewish Learning Network
of Michigan, will lead a
seminar on the "Yeas and
Nays" in Jewish outreach. He
will discuss how, when and
what to do, or what not to do
in outreach work.
The program will be held at
7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at the
Machon L'Torah Learning
Center. There is no charge.

A variety of courses are of-
fered beginning Feb. 3 in the
winter/spring semester of the
Midrasha-College of Jewish
Studies.
All levels of Hebrew
language and literature from
beginners to advanced meet
for 16 two-hour sessions. They
are taught by Nira Lev,
associate professor of Hebrew
language and literature, and
Ahuva Newman, a Hebrew
language instructor.
Beginner's Hebrew Reading
will meet on Mondays at 7:30
p.m. Feb. 4-April 8. Advanced
Beginner's Hebrew Reading
will meet for eight weeks on
Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Feb.
7-April 11. Both courses are

The Development of the

26.
Selected readings from
Talmudic Literature, taught

by Rabbi Rod Glogower of the
Hillel Orthodox Union, covers
holidays, prayer, matters of
civil law and capital punish-
ment. This course meets at 10
a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 6-May
8 and is offered for credit in
the master's degree program
of the Midrasha.
The above courses meet at
the United Hebrew Schools
building.
A Coat of Many Colors, a
lecture/recital presented by
Cantor Gail Hirschenfang of
Temple Beth El is offered at
7:15 p.m. on Feb. 6, 13, March
6 and 13 at Temple Beth El.
Cantor Hirschenfang will ex-
plore the diverse cultures
which have contributed to
Jewish music.
