The Iraqi missile attacks against Israel, which you
so aptly described as "terrorist attacks," have
reinforced our conviction of the wisdom and
justice of Operation Desert Storm.
The fraternal expressions of concern and sym-
pathy which you have personally conveyed to
the Government and people of Israel and the
prompt dispatchof U.S.-manned Patriot missiles to
Israel bolster its anti-missile defenses are deeply
appreciated by friends of Israel everywhere.
While the exigencies of war are not conducive
to long-range conclusions, Iraq's terrorist attacks
against Israel underscore Israel's vulnerability to
similar assaults from countries and terrorist groups
operating closer to Israel's borders,
We hope and pray that the international coali-
tion arrayed against the Iraqi outlaw will achieve
a quick and decisive victory.
