Today, Mr. Feinberg tries to instill that love for music in his students, which in- clude everyone from an 82- year-old woman named Rose to a girl of 8, "a bright, pigtailed girl with freckles," he said. The only student Mr. Feinberg will not work with is the one who does not want to learn. "Before I accept them as students, I always ask chil- dren, 'Do you want to play?' " he said. "I ask the child because you'll get the truth out of him. Once, I even turned somebody down because it was the parent, not the child, who wanted the lessons. To me, music is a love, not a battle." ❑ Southfield Ice Company Scheduled For April Figure skater Linda Fra- tianne will join the City of Southfield's Ice Company in celebrating its 20th anniver- sary during its opening night performance on April 24.
