O Rich Named Young Pharmacist Sheldon Rich of Southfield has been recognized as Michigan's 1990 recipient of the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award. The award, sponsored by Marion Merrell Dow, Inc., was presented to Mr. Rich recent- ly at the Michigan Phar- macists Association's 8th An- nual Awards Night, held at the University Club of Michigan State University in Lansing. The Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award is presented annually by the Michigan Pharmacists Association to a young phar- macist in the state, who is selected by his or her peers, in recognition of that in- dividual's excellence and outstanding service to the profession of pharmacy. Mr. Rich is currently vice president of Pharmacy Opera- tions for the Maple Drug Store chain based in Farmington. A clinical instructor for the College of Pharmacy at both Wayne State University and the University of Michigan, Mr. Rich is also a phar- macology instructor for the pharmacy technician pro- gram at Oakland Communi- ty College.
