at Hollywood Greyhound
Track (clubhouse attire) .. .
Noon Sunday is "Seabreeze
Buffet" hosted by Page and
Weldon Yeager at their Ocean
Ridge home (poolside attire)

arranged, if needed, for
Saturday's Hollywood shindig
. . . For more info, call MCF,

LINDA MCMILLAN, new
director of public relations for
Ritz-Carlton Dearborn, was a
writer in former Governor
Jim Blanchard's cor-
respondence office for. two
years, and most recently was
a special event scheduling
coordinator in Lansing.
Her assistant director of
public relations, Jill Taschner,
was an assistant account ex-
ecutive at Lovio-George
advertising in Detroit and a
media relations intern at the
Metropolitan Detroit Conven-
tion and Visitors Bureau.
Both are Michigan State
University grads.
EVERYBODY'S a gag
writer says a localite . . .
"When I asked my wife, 'Are
you going to straighten up
the house?' she answered,
`Why, is it tilted?' "
WHAT DO YOU say to
some shooting baskets with
Vinnie Johnson, Mark
Aguirre or James Edwards
among the friends of Bradley
"Bubba" Urdan? . . . The
21-year-old Detroit Piston
water boy past 5 1/2 years
always did want to be in the
retail business like his grand-
father, Dave Moss, who own-
ed drug stores in the Detroit
area.
And here he is at Bubba's
Place, designed by Cary
Greenberg, in Sugar Tree
shopping center on Orchard
Lake Road south of Maple,
with sweats, jeans and casual
wear for all ages.
The basketball hoop in Bub-
ba's Place is mounted on a
side wall and signed with
spray paint by Piston players
. . . Even the floor under Bub-
ba's basket is the wood you'll
find in gyms . . . If none of the
Pistons are around, young
Bubba will shoot a few hoops
with you . . . basketball is
very much a part of his life.
SYLVIA COHEN writes
. . . "At the site of 10 Mile
Road and Coolidge, the
Dexter-Davison bulding may
be gone but the memories
will always be there. The
Jewish community experienc-
ed something unique in being
part of the Cottler Family. It
was a corner grocery store on
a larger scale. Everyone was
greeted by the owner (Nor-
man) as though they were
family. No matter how busy it
was, the customer could still

relish in personal attention.
"If Norman was attending
the fruits and vegetables,
Tony would be there with a
smile and a delectable sample
of watermelon or cantaloupe.
If Ruby was helping stock the
freezers, Johnny would help
you find that special some-
thing for your Pesach seder
table. Or Bernie could assist
you in selecting a special
wine.
"Dexter-Davison was an
ongoing, never-ending class
reunion as the slogan of the
store stated: 'Where Old
Friends Meet To Shop And
Save.'
"My father was with the
Jewish Legion (British Army)
in World War I in Palestine.
Their uniform emblem was
the menorah and so he used
that logo for the store, the
shopping bags and on all the
trucks. When the store first
opened he had a huge
menorah made and it was on
display on the wall. It was
preserved by the developers
and as you now enter the new,
modern Farmer Jack in Oak
Park, it is on the wall to your
left with the words, 'Dexter-
Davison' in neon lights.
Thanks to Paul Borman, he
has kept beautiful memories
alive!"
