Irvin Meckler
Irvin Meckler, 75, of
Florida, formerly of Detroit,
died Jan. 4.
Mr. Meckler was an ex-
ecutive in the meat packing
industry. He was founder and
president of Rem Packing un-
til he retired in 1978.
After retirement, he involv-
ed himself in sculpting, was a
past board member and life
member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, Mosaic Lodge
530 F&AM Hundred Club
and Hebrew Benevolent
Society.
He was also a past member
and past board member of
Knollwood Country Club and
a volunteer worker for the
Cypress Humana Hospital in
Florida.
He leaves his wife, Lillian;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Adria and Dr. Marvin Arono-
vitz of Bloomfield Hills, Rosie
and Mark Schlussel of South-
field, Judith and Dr. Walter
Coleman of West Bloomfield;
son and daughter-in-law,
Ronald and Jackie of New
York; 12 grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter. Ser-
vices and interment were
held in Detroit.
Barbara Aronsson
Barbara Joy Aronsson, 63,
of Bloomfield Hills, died Jan.
4.
Mrs. Aronsson was a
restaurateur and former co-
owner of Carl's Chop House
on Grand River in Detroit.
She sold the restaurant in
August 1990.
She was a member of the
Detroit Swedish Council, the
President's Club of Oakland
University and an avid sport-
swoman. She was an ac-
complished equestrian, a
golfer, hiker and fitness buff.
Mrs. Aronsson leaves her
daughter and son-in-law, Ian
Aronsson and Tim Conklin of
Bloomfield Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and
Wanda of Grenich, Conn.;
father, Carl Rosenfield of
Bloomfield Hills; one grand-
son.
