Aplication Due
For Fellowships

Feb. 1 is the deadline for ap-
plications for this year's
Edgar M. Bronfman Youth
Fellowships in Israel.
The Fellowships offer an op-
portunity each year for 25
high school students entering
their senior year in the fall to
spend five weeks in Israel.
The teen-agers will gather
in New York on July 7 for a
two-day seminar prior to leav-
ing for Israel for study. In ad-
dition, the Fellows will meet
with some of Israel's most in-
cisive thinkers, including
writers, journalists and
academicians from Israeli
universities.
The Fellowships will cover
all expenses, including round-
trip transportation between
New York and Israel, room
and board, travel in Israel
and incidentals.
High school students in the
U.S. and Canada who will be
seniors in September 1991
may obtain application forms
and detailed information by
writing or calling the Edgar
M. Bronfman Youth Fellow-
ships in Israel, 17 Wilbur
Street, Albany, N.Y. 12202;
(518) 465-6575. Completed ap-
plications must be postmark-
ed no later than Feb. 1, 1991.
The names of the 1991 Fel-
lowship recipients will be an-
nounced on March 25.

'I LOCAL NEWS

Emigre Seeks
Family Members

A man in New York, from
the U.S.S.R., is looking for his
brother's family who came to
the United States in 1921 and
lived in the Detroit area. His
name was Itzhok Banderov-
sky born in 1898; his sister,
Malca, was born in 1899; and
a sister Haica was born in
1902.
Perhaps the Banderovsky
name was changed and Haica
and Malca married.
Anyone with information is
asked to contact Bernice
Lazere, Co-ordinator of Fami-
ly Location Services, 235
Park Ave. South, New York,
N.Y. 10003.
