Plan Season

Jan. 26 — Sherri Nichols
will present her farewell
Detroit performance as a
benefit for Music Hall. "Old
Skylines, New Horizons" will
recreate some of the numbers
and performers from the
stage of the Wilson Theatre
(aka Music Hall) from the 20s,
30s, and 40s. Music Hall Pro-
ducers will join host Neil
Shine for dinner in the Selma
Hyman Lounge before the
show. Afterglow entertain-
ment will be provided by the
Mike Wahls jazz trio.
March 1 — The third an-
nual Music Hall Producers
Black Tie dinner will be
hosted by Music Hall Pro-
ducer co-chairs Tina and
Leland Bassett featuring
Detroit jazz, big band and
blues great Alma Smith.
April — "Step Back In
Time" will experience what it
was like to be invited to a
fabulous Meadowbrook Hall
after a downtown perfor-
mance at the Wilson Theatre.
Meadowbrook Hall historian
Dean Lowell Eklund will be
the guide for the evening
hosted by Mrs. Roger B.
Smith.

May — In "Up On The
Roof," Detroit historian
Michael Farrell will engineer
a vantage point look at the
Theatre District with a hard
hat party on the Music Hall
roof. The Music Hall Pro-
ducers croquet tournament
will take place on Detroit's
only official croquet court at
the River Place Inn hosted by
John and Vivian Stroh.

Music Hall Producers are
also invited to performance
events during the Music Hall
Center season including
afterglows, lectures and
special luncheons and din-
ners with performing artists.
The Music Hall Producers
are the major donor group
who contribute more than
$1,000 a year individually to
Music Hall. They were
started two years ago as part
of the turn-around at Music
Hall under the leadership, of
Music Hall Chair Henrietta
Fridholm.
Music Hall Center is a non-
profit, tax exempt corporation
whose programs are sup-
ported in part from general
grants and contributions from
the Michigan Council for the
Arts, the City of Detroit
Council for the Arts, Arts
Midwest, the National En-
dowment for the Arts, private
contributions and its
audiences.
