Alpha Omega
impressed the
public and their
fellow dentists with
their convention
production of
"Ships Ahoy!

he Hubbard Ballroom of the
Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dear-
born was transformed into
the Alpha Omega Theater for
the 83rd annual interna-
tional convention of the
Alpha Omega Dental
Fraternity.
Delegates representing the
22 countries of the Alpha
Omega organization were
treated to an original musical
comedy on a stage created
especially for this production,
complete with theatrical
lighting, by members of the
Detroit chapter.
The show, entitled Ship
Ahoy!, played for two-sold-out
public performances Dec. 22
and 23 before being seen by
the conventioneers on Dec. 26.
With book and lyrics by Dr.
Stuart LaKind, Dr. Gerald
Michael and Delores Michael,
the production was under the
supervision of executive pro-
ducer, Dr. Jack Lawson.
The director was Stuart
LaKind, and the staff includ-
ed: Gerald Michael, associate
director and lighting; Louis
Peven, set construction; Nori
Geffen, set design; Gene Fen-
by, music director; Barbara
Fink, choreography; Marcy

Greenbert Goldin, special
dance material and dance
captain; Delores Michael, pro-
duction assistant; Lori Roth,
production secretary; Rhea
Blume, assisted by Gerry
Warren, costumes and war-
drobe; Richard Williams,
business manager, Sam Olen
and Robert Moss, lights;
Joanne Zuroff, publicity; Dale
Garber, production photog-
rapher; Larry Wenokur, stage
manager.
The cast was comprised en-
tirely of Alpha Omega den-
tists and their spouses. Ap-
pearing were: Mike Blume,
John and Miriam Cohen,
Susan Friedman, Bob Galin,
Mort Gerenraich, Marcy
Greenbert Goldin, Cliff
Heller, Landi Heller, Jeff
Jaffe, Mark Luria, Ron and
Laura Miller, Dan Morof,
Mike and Sheila Rosenfeld,
Steve and Lori Roth, Ed
Schneider, Allen and Phyllis
Seel, Doug and Julie Shiff-
man, Gordon Smith, Helene
Steinberg, Burt and Judy
