Wendy Wasserstein's The
Heidi Chronicles will open at
the Fisher Theatre Jan. 23 for
one week. Stephanie Dun-
nam from the TV series
"Dynasty" will star as Heidi
Holland.
A coming of age tale of
Heidi Holland and her
generation, The Heidi
Chronicles follows one
woman's journey through the
last three decades: the im-
passioned 60s, the con-
sciousness-raising of the 70s,
and the "having it all" of the
80s. Heidi's 25-year search for
"her place" is both touching
and humorous.
For ticket information, call
the Fisher Theatre, 872-1000.

In time for Les Miserables,
the Fisher Theatre has in-
stalled an "Infrared Listen-
ing System." Now patrons
with hearing disabilities will
have the same opportunities
to enjoy all the sounds of the
theatre.
For a small fee, patrons may
rent wireless headsets in the
lobby of the Fisher Theatre.
These headsets receive sound
signals via infrared light
transmitted from the
theatre's master sound
system. The headset weighs
just 2 1/2 ounces and has a
volume control that can
amplify up to 101 decibels
and can be easily adapted for
use with a hearing aid. Hear-
ing impaired patrons will be
able to hear clearly from
anywhere in the Fisher
Theatre without distortion of
extraneous noises.

What I Did Last Summer; a
partly autobiographical play
by A.R. Gurney, Jr. will begin
a four-week run 8 p.m. Jan. 3
at Meadow Brook Theatre on
the campus of Oakland
University near Rochester.
The adolescent, naturally
rebellious Charlie, is vaca-
tioning at the family's sum- •
mer home on Lake Erie. The
year is 1945 at the end of
World War II. Charlie's father
is away in the Pacific and his
mother is preoccupied with a
discreet affair. Charlie longs
to be some kind of artist, but
to do that he must rebel
against an upbringing that
prizes decorum and conformi-
ty over any kind of self
expression.
For ticket information, call
the theater, 377-3300.
