sort of award . . . You might
call her a volunteer of
volunteers . . . with her being
on about 45 committees .. .
and a worker on all.
George Zalman doesn't buy
anything without a ticket on
it, so brother-in-law Ben
Kosins put a Kosins tag on a
dress . . . George is married to
Ben's sister Sally.
You could tell how much the
models appreciated the long
winged runway that Leah
Marks provided for American
Lung Association . . . They
strutted vigorously with room
to whirl and show their stuff
in the beat that was formerly
nice, smooth and easy but
suddenly has become too fren-
zied . . . Leah Marks is too
much a professional not to do
something about it . . . She is
noted for her soft beat music
. . . This seemed a bit too
blary . . . in the very well
coordinated production that

"Be active, be
positive" is this
senior citizen's
motto.

began with a girl and seven
fellows dancing . . . and then
five girls and two gents in
terpsi-time . . . as the evening
proved a most enjoyable one
for the 400 who attended for
American Lung Association.
Southfield Manor was scene
of second annual fashion
show put on by Hayfa Seeman
of Orosdi-Beck in Southfield
Plaza . . . and produced by
Leah Marks . . . with other
showings by Kosins Clothes,
George's Hair Salon and
United Optical . . . Started
with "the hams" .. . five lit-
tle girls, all daughters of at-
tendees, coming out with
dancer Andrew Crawford .. .
One waved hello to her mom-
my in the audience . . .
another looked to see who
was watching . . . two very
bashful little girls were so
cute . . . and another one
definitely was model material
with her confident twirls.
THAT'S NOT one of John
Cetron's gags on his left foot
. . . The limp of former
bartender and now manager
at Excalibur Restaurant is for
real . . . He missed a step at
a friend's jacuzzi and broke a
bone . . . Doesn't stop him
from doing his tricks,
however.
CYSTIC FIBROSIS Foun-
dation was big winner recent-
ly as Crosswinds Mall put on
its gala Holiday Fiesta Fan-
tasy with Mexican food pro-
vided by Manuel's which was
to open soon at the shopping
center on Orchard Lake Road.
Lots of people . . . everybody

wearing everything except
tux and evening gowns .. .
Storeowners who stayed open
were glad they did . . . Those
that didn't were sorry.
Big hit was the new hair-do
by Mario Bitonti of
Mariomax, with hair done up
to look like a skimmer hat .. .
Takes only 20 minutes with a
person's hair or a wig .. .
Model Cindy Hyman, wife of
Jeff Hyman, corporate tax at-
torney, used the real thing .. .
her own.
Marsha Fischer celebrated
doubly . . . She had that day
opened her own Fischer Real-
ty on Northwestern Highway
after nine years with
Farbman-Stein.
Joe and Kathy Cornell wat-
ching the dance exhibitions
without emotion . . . not as
good as they hoped . . . Joe
recently was hired as consul-
tant for a TV movie on danc-
ing to soon be released .. .
Manuel's opening was slated
for the Wednesday following
Crosswind's Fiesta . . . Owner
Manuel Chavez has a thing
about this day . . . He opened
Ristorante di Modesta on a
Wednesday and, following its
fire, reopened again on a
Wednesday . . . Roger Petre is
his general manager and Er-
nie Malazo day and night
manager.
Bruce and Miriam Milen
new father and mother of
recently born Rachel . . . Next
door neighbors Steve and Joni
Hurwitz (Mai Kai Cleaners)
and Morris and Robin
Marguilies with son Adam
(Crosswinds, Sunset Strip, La
Mirage, etc.).
Those who attended can
feel mightly good that they
helped so fine an organization
like Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation.
HAVE A HAPPY and
healthy New Year . . . Drive
carefully on New Year's Eve
and always remember to look
where you are going . . . Some
of the kooks out there aren't.
TWO PIGS who were en-
route to market were lamen-
