On the kosher dining scene, several restaurants are now open both in Miami Beach and to the north. Many popular Broadway plays will be running in south Florida this winter. The New Theater, Inc., in Coral Gables, will run The Chekhov Storybook (Jan. 4-Feb. 3), and The White Crow: Eichmann in Jerusalem (Mar. 29- Apr. 28). Crossing Delancey will be staged at the Theatre Company of Plantation from Feb. 18-Mar. 21. The Hollywood Playhouse has scheduled Torch Song Trilogy from Jan. 12-Feb. 3, and Call Me Madam, Mar. 2-31. At the Actors Playhouse, in Kendall, they are showing Dames At Sea until Dec. 30, the Odd Couple (Jan. 16-Feb. 3), and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Feb. 20-Mar. 17). The Phantom of the Opera will play at Fort Lauderdale's Broward Center for the Per- forming Arts from Feb. 26 un- til May. The Caldwell Theater, in Boca Raton, will show See How They Run (Dec. 31-Feb. 10), and Other People's Money (Feb. 19-Mar. 3). In Miami Beach, the Jackie Gleason Theater will present Grand Hotel (Jan. 8-20), M. Butterfly (Feb. 12-24), and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Web- ber (March 12-24). Fiddler On The Roof will be at the Jupiter Theater, in Jupiter, Jan. 8-Feb. 24. You can see Loretta Swit in Shirley Valentine until Feb. 10, and The Little Shop of Horrors, Feb. 19-Mar. 24, at the Coconut Grove Playhouse. Seven Brides For Seven Brothers will play at the Royal Palm Dinner Theater, in Boca Raton, until Jan. 20, and will be followed by Mame which runs until April. Pianist Andre Watts will play Schubert, Debussy and Ravel on Jan. 6 at the West Palm Beach Auditorium. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida will play works by Britten, Grieg and Ravel, at Miami's Gusman Center, on Jan. 3. The Israel Pops Orchestra will perform, with guest ar- tist Theodore Bikel, at the Theater of Performing Arts, Miami Beach, on March 6 and 7. Marvin Hamlisch will appear at Temple Beth El, Boca Raton, on March 13, and Victor Borge will play with the Florida Symphonic Pops at the Florida Atlantic University on March 21. Temple Beth El, Boca Raton, and Temple Beth Am, Miami, will host several con- certs on different dates in January, February and March.
