"Clarinet and Compa-
nions" will be the Lyric
Chamber Ensemble's fourth
concert of its series at 3:30
p.m. Jan. 6 at the Grosse
Pointe War Memorial.
This concert will feature
the Mozart Trio for clarinet,
viola and piano in E flat
(K.498), Bartok's Contrasts,
the Mozart Duo for violin and
viola (K.423), and Poulenc's
Clarinet sonata.
Theodore Oien, principal
clarinetist of the DSO has
performed many concertos in-
cluding the Copland Clarinet
Concerto, with the composer
conducting. Mr. Oien is on the
faculty of Wayne State
University and his summer
associations include 11 years
with the Carmel Bach
Festival and most recently
the Aspen Music Festival.
With Mr. Oien will be Em-
manuelle Boisvert (DSO Con-
certmaster), James Van
Valkenburg (viola), and
pianist Fedora Horowitz.

The Oak Park Department
of Recreation will host three
Kids Concerts. The series is
geared toward children ages
12 and under but will have
general audience appeal.
The Actors Company will
present "The Wizard of Oz"
Jan. 19. Julie Austin, folk-
singer, and Bernie Stevens,
magician, will appear Feb. 9.
Ron Coden with children's
songs and the Tuxedo
Brothers, with comedy and
juggling, will perform Feb. 23.
All performances begin at
11 a.m. and will last one hour
and 15 minutes. There is a
charge.
