Mrs. Norris was a former administrative assistant for the Labor and Industrial Relations Department at Wayne State University. She also had worked at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and was a research assistant to Dr. A. Martin Lerner. She was also a former staff stenographer for the Detroit Board of Education. She was an administrative assistant for AMIDIS (Gov- ernment Service — Man- power Training). King, 88, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Southfield, died Dec. 1. Mr. King was a member of Perfection Mosaic Lodge 32nd Degree Mason, Detroit Con- sistory and Moslem Shrine and was a self-employed tailor. He leaves his daughters and sons-in-law, Jeri and Nate Adler of Boca Raton, Flodell and Albert Mersel of Miami Beach,Fla.; brother Jack of Southfield; three grand- children; two great-grand- sons. Services and interment were in Detroit. Rabbi Jossef Kratzenstein Rabbi Jossef (Julius) Kratzenstein, 86, of Bay City, died Nov. 15. Born in Marienhagen, Ger- many, he served as rabbi and teacher in Sobernheim, Zurich Luxembourg and in the United States in Cumberland, Md., Nashville, Tenn., Atlantic City, N.J., and Bay City, Mich. He received both a doctor of philosophy and a doctor of divinity. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; son, Joshua (Walter) Kaye. Ruth J. Gurwin, 87 Ruth J. Gurwin, 87, of Southfield, died Dec. 2. Mrs. Gurwin was director and past officer of the Sinai Hospital Guild, a JARC volunteer and office manager and bookkeeper for food brokers. She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Hanley and Julie of Orchard Lake; sister, Marion Schwarz of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren. Ql■ William Leebove William H. Leebove William H. Leebove, 69, of West Bloomfield, died Nov. 28. Mr. Leebove was a co- founder and owner of Crown Furniture (22 stores in Metro Detroit) and was in the fur- niture business for more than 35 years. He was a member of the Furniture Club of Detroit and an Army Veteran of World War II. He leaves his wife, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Carol of West Bloomfield, Richard and Valerie of Sylvan Lake, Gary and Patti of Birmingham; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Yogen Dalal of Palo Alto, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Eleanor of Farmington Hills; sister Ann Barnett of South- field; five grandchildren. Lowell Blumberg, 46 Lowell Blumberg, 46, a well-known Gaylord attorney, died Nov. 30. A graduate of Oberlin Col- lege of Ohio and the Univer- sity of Michigan Law School, Mr. Blumberg clerked for the Michigan Court of Appeals and worked for the firm of Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn before moving to Gaylord. An active member of the board of directors of the Gaylord Area Council of the Arts, he helped prepare their bylaws. An avid sports fan and supporter of local youth activities, he did radio com- mentary of local high school football and basketball games. Mr. Blumberg leaves his wife, Michelle; daughters, Amy, Jessica and Nora; son, Seth; parents, Arthur and Sylvia of Oak Park; brothers, Steven of Boston, Elliott of Harbor Springs, Mich.
