SPACE Room to Grow For
Changing Families will offer
a topic drop-in discussion
group entitled "Holiday
Times" at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 11 at
the SPACE office.
The workshop presenter,
Joyce Slaim, M.A., L.L.P., will
share ways to get through the
difficult times of the holidays.
An informal discussion will
address feelings of sadness
and loss and show ways to en-
joy the special people and
moments. Pre-registration is

Two special drop-in discus-
sion groups, one for widowed
men and women, the other for
men and women who are
either separated or divorced,
are scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Dec. 12 at the office.
On Dec. 18 at 7:15 p.m., a
workshop entitled "Play" will
be offered by Elizabeth Fod-
den, M.A., L.L.P., who main-
tains that "play" is not only
fun, but a necessary vehicle
for child development and the
building of self-esteem.
Adults can learn how par-
ticipating in their child's play
can help enrich the relation-
ship and also reactivate their
own creativity and spontanei-
ty. Pre-registration is re-
quired; call SPACE, 258-6606.
A topic drop-in discussion
group, "Share Your New Holi-
day Traditions," is scheduled
for 7:15 p.m. Dec. 19.
Divorce and widowed sup-
port groups are held Monday
evenings at SPACE. Pre-
registration is mandatory.

Humor Workshop
Set For Singles

On Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m., the
Jewish Community Center
Singles will host a workshop,
"Laughter Is The Best
Medicine," presented by The
Best Medicine Company at
the Maple-Drake Building.
The company tries to help
people develop an appropriate
sense of humor, become aware
of the physical and emotional
benefits of laughter and learn
practical tips on developing
the skill of humor.
