Slates Concerts

Conductor Raymond Lep-
pard will lead the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra in four
performances of Holt's Ballet
Music from The Perfect Fool
and Mendelssohn's Symphony
No. 1 in C minor. DSO con-
certmaster Emmanuelle
Boisvert is the soloist for
these concerts performing
Stravinsky's Violin Concerto
in D major. Performances will
take place 10:45 a.m. Nov. 30,
8:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 2 at Orchestra Hall.
Raymond Leppard, enters
his fourth season as music
director of the Indianapolis
Symphony Orchestra and has
appeared with many of the
world's major orchestras.
Emmanuelle Boisvert was a
member of the Cleveland Or-
chestra from 1986 before her
appointment in Detroit in
1988. Prior to joining the
Cleveland orchestra she
played with the Concerto
Soloists Chamber Orchestra,
the Colorado Philharmonic as
associate concertmaster, and
DOrchestre de Radio-Canada.

Readers Theater
Ends Fall Series

The final performance of
the fall 1990 series of Readers
Theater will take place 3:30
p.m. Dec. 9 at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center. A complimentary pre-
theater wine bar will open at
3 p.m.
Host for this performance
will be Linda Lee, president of
the Jewish Community
Center. The acting ensemble
will include Rita Haddow, Al
Vinocur, Elizabeth Elkin
Weiss, and Rube Weiss. Ar-
tistic Director is Yolanda
Fleischer.
The program will feature
short stories by Bernard
Malamud, Leo Rosten, Dan
Greenburg, and Rosalind
Warren. There is a charge.

present Mr. Grump and the
