forefather.
"If Avraham were here to-

telephone in his car," Mr.
Schlussel said.
Mr. Hermelin has denied
having a fax machine in his

ingham on Nov. 18 to benefit
the Meadow Brook Art
Gallery of Oakland Univer-
sity. The Baryons' donation
of 50 pieces from their collec-
tion of contemporary art
helped raised $30,000 for the
gallery. Some of the support-
ers included: Sydell and
Doug Schubot, Franklin
Guy and Nora Barron,
Marion and David Handle-
man and Sheila and
Richard Sloan.

GOVERNOR'S
AWARD
The Governor's Arts
Awards dinner will take
place on Dec. 3 at Clubland
in Detroit. Governor Blan-
chard will present awards to
six community leaders:
Bess Bonnier, Walter B.
Ford, Karen VanderKloot,
David DiChiera, Corrine
Abaft and William Bonifas.
Sue Marx Films, Inc. pro-
duced the video, Art Makes
the Difference,which was
commissioned by Concerned
Citizens for the Arts in
Michigan. The film, written
by Steve Plackdharry will
premiere at the event. Some
of the people featured in the
video are journalist Mitch
Albom and state senator
Lana Pollack.
