Rabbi Dr. Uziel Milevsky,
former Chief Rabbi of Mexico,
will be the guest speaker for
a Lunch and Learn at 12:30
p.m. Dec. 13 at the Yeshiva
Gedolah building.
Rabbi Milevsky received his
PH.D. from Johns Hopkins
and served as the Chief Rab-
bi of Mexico for five years. He
is the Dean of the Tanenbaum
College (Ohr Somayach) in
Toronto, Canada.

Synagogue To Host
Family Forum

Adat Shalom Synagogue
will host a program on "Rais-
ing Kids in An Age of Af-
fluence," an interactive fami-
ly forum at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5.
Harlene Appelman and
Deanne Gins-Gruenberg will
lead the discussion. David
Techner will moderate.
Ms. Appelman directs
Jewish Experiences For
Famiies, the Fresh Air Socie-
ty Family Camp, and Jewish
acculturation programs for
Russian
newcomers.
Ginns-Gruenberg,
a
registered nurse and family
life educator, speaks frequent-
ly on peer pressure, sex and
love, self-esteem and com-
munication between parents
and children. Techner
is a funeral director and co-
founder of the Alicia
Joy Techner Parenting
Conference.
The synagogue's Adult
Study Commission in con-
junction with Jewish Family
Service planned the event.
Chairpersons are Murray and
Wendy Strip Sittsamer. There
is no charge.

Rabbi Herschel Finman,
director of Educational
Outreach for Lubavitch Foun-
dation of Michigan will lead
a dicussion on the ethical
question of autopsies and
organ donations at several
lunch and learns.
The lunches will be on Dec.
4 in the offices of Kaufman
and Payton in Farmington
Hills; Dec. 5 in the chambers
of Chief Judge Richard Kauf-
man in Detroit; Dec. 6 in the
offices of Sommers,
Schwartz, Silver and
Schwartz in Southfield, and
Dec. 12 in the chambers of
Judge Edward Sosnick, Pon-
tiac. All lunch and learns
begin at 12:30 p.m. and there
is a charge.
The lecture will be offered
again at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in the
home of Judge Benjamin
Friedman in Huntington
Woods. There is no charge.
"Chanukah — A Lesson in
Miracles" will be discussed at
12:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the offices
of Great Lakes Paper Com-
pany in Roseville. Lunch will
be provided. There is a
charge.
